Effective May 30, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) issued an Underground Injection Control permit associated with Union Pacific’s ongoing groundwater remediation work in the 29th & Grove area of Wichita.
The permit authorizes the injection of treated groundwater back into the ground as part of continued environmental remediation activities.
Union Pacific will continue working with KHDE to advance this work and is committed to safe and responsible remediation in the community.
